I Belong 04:16
I belong to the mountain, I belong to the sea I belong to the wind that carries me I belong to the wilderness, I belong to the trees I belong to the sun that shines on me Let the ocean wash away, all the doubts of yesterday Let the ocean wash away, all the doubts of yesterday

Don't cry for me when I'm gone Don't cry for me when I'm gone I'll be in the ground with no worries to be found So don't cry for me when I'm gone Don't sing for me when I'm gone Don't sing for me when I'm gone I'll be in the ground, I won't hear a single sound So don't sing for me when I'm gone Don't pray for me when I'm gone Don't pray for me when I'm gone I'll be in the grave with no soul left to save So don't pray for me when I'm gone

Second Star 03:32
Never could count all the ways that I want you Looking back, I hate the ways I used to taunt you That was before I knew the ways to your heart Second star to the right, straight on ‘til morning light Well, they said we’d never land on our feet But they’ve never known the way that my heart beats When the sun casts your shadow down the street Second star to the right, straight on ‘til morning light One more time I take a glance at the past Don't you know, I would’ve dance if you’d asked What did they know when they said we’d never last? Second star to the right....

Tell me straight, are we the same? Are you tied all the way? And will the strands of these broken dreams Bring you closer to me? Tell me fair, are we there? Are we tied all the way? And will the strands of all you do Bring me closer to you? ‘Cause I will follow anywhere, come untie me all the way ‘Cause I’m still bound to these broken dreams Nothing’s what it seems And I will listen, when you say You’ll come and take my pain away But leave one strand of these broken dreams I want you tied to me

Crossing through the pasture, walk a little faster Start to feel the chill of something brushing past you But there ain't a living soul in this land The drugs'll never last you, you're heading for disaster Welcome to this life, there are no masters And there is no plan So, we're gonna dance with the dead tonight Hear them singing in the pale moonlight And we won't be afraid We're gonna dance with the dead tonight One more chance to set it right There's no need to fear the shade Come a little closer, lean upon my shoulder Feel yourself forget everything they told you There's something you need to understand All the lies they sold you starting to unfold you Don't look away, it doesn't own you This is your last chance Let the ghosts surround you, they're so glad they found you Feel yourself come loose from all the things that bound you Now they can take you by the hand The music starts to move you, let the rhythm soothe you There's nothing left, nothing you can do But close your eyes and dance

Oh Well 02:44
Well, I thought that I’d been everywhere, I thought I’d seen it all I’ve felt the desert beckoning, I’ve heard the ocean call Then there she was up on the stage, looking right through me And with just a couple words, she taught me to see She said oh well, oh well, I can’t stop the world From rolling straight down into Hell I’m just about done caring about what I can’t control So, you might as well have another drink ‘Cause the devil won’t get this soul I’ve seen some things, I’ve been around for a little while I’ve been down in valley low, I’ve been on mountain high But in my mind, she’s still there, standing on that stage And when everything goes wrong, I’ll know what to say Well I'll say oh well...
7.
Well, that boat sets sail, sooner than I want It’s taking you away, tomorrow you’ll be gone You’re tired of this town, and everything went wrong But if you stick around, I’ll sing you a song It goes something like this... Once more I ask you to stay, don’t take that sunshine away Once more I ask you to stay, don’t take that sunshine away

Timothy 03:25
I fell in love with a lonely man He had a long, dark voice and a gentle stance But you barely even threw a glance at me, Timothy When I close my eyes, I can feel your grasp What I'd give for just one dance You weren’t ready to take a chance on me, Timothy Oh Lord, take this hurting away I’m tired, torn, ready for Hell to pay

Well, I’ve never been wanted, dead or alive I’ve just been waiting, waiting to arrive Now I’m sitting at the station Watching everyone leave Because time marches on, with or without me Yes, time marches on, with or without me Well, I’ve never wanted much from my life I’ve just been trying, trying to survive Now I’m sitting at the station Watching the sun turn the leaves

He came stumbling in, crying, with a note in is hand. It said “We’ll never be together. You know I long for foreign lands. And I know you just love the country; I know you’re tied to the land. But I want more, I want the ocean. I want to waltz in the sand.” We pulled another chair up to the table, put a glass of whiskey in his hand He said “I guess I’ll never tell her. I hope she waltzes in the sand. But she’s right I love the country. She knows I’m tied to the land. My great-great grandaddy tilled it, with just a plough and his hand.” He sat a long time just silent, whiskey swirling in his hand. We knew he needed some quiet, to sort it out if he can. He said “I guess we were too different, and who wants everyone the same? But I’ll miss those eyes in the morning, I’ll miss her calling my name I can’t become another person. I can’t change who I am. I can’t stop loving the country, can’t cut ties to the land. But I really hope she’s happy, that she finds someone who understands. And I hope she always hears the ocean. I hope she waltzes in the sand.”

Tell me, Finlay, how long has it been? The pictures on the icebox tell me That you lost your kin You've only known one way to life Since way back when So tell me, Finlay, how long has it been? Give me something before you leave A scratch behind my ear while I sit upon your knee Give me something before you go Something to hold on to 'cause the time it moves so slow I'll tell you, Finlay, we're not at all that far apart We both sit round most our days nursing a broken heart I'd tell you all my story, but I just don't know where to start I'll tell you Finlay, we're not all that far apart Tell me, Finlay, what are you going to do? Now that all this time and space has just been left to you We could sit round belly-aching, that's a waste of time I know they took your kids away just like she took mine

I was riding down the trail And my pony was swishing her tail She and I had never been down this road before With a whinny and a neigh She tells me she wants to stay Far away from this road forever more Oh you can't escape misery No matter where you happen to be I can gallop off into the sky But there's no more you and I Now my ship is pierced with nails There's no wind left for these sails Now it's time to sink down to the ocean floor And with one last burst of pain I feel someone take the reins They say it's time to give up control forever more

Without You 02:41
Talking along without you, tryin’ not to think about you Don’t know that I'm allowed to be happy without you Walking along without you, can’t help but think about you Looking for someone to shout to, I’m better without you Singing along without you, don’t wanna sing about you Don’t know that I know how to be happy without you

Well, let me tell you a little story about Franklin D. Scruff Times were pretty hard, life was rough He threw it all away for a shot at some shiny stuff Say a prayer for Franklin D. Scruff Are you still alone? Can you feel All the scars you’ve sown inside me? Tell me will you wait and see All the things you said I'd be? Frankie’s mama didn’t like him as much as she did his older brother She’d often quote the bible, said let us love one to another But though she prayed and though he cried, nothing ever was enough She had no love for Franklin D. Scruff Tell me will you wait and see All the things you said I'd be? Well, he got pushed around, he got kicked in the teeth It taught him to lie, it taught him to cheat Learning all the worst ways to survive But even Frankie would have to admit Long after dark when he was ready to quit He was just doggone tired of being alive Sometimes he’d walk by the jewelry store Late at night, instead of pacing the floor He’d stand there for hours just staring inside At the pretty jewels that reminded him Of all the things denied to him And sometimes when no one was looking, Frankie cried Well, maybe for mischief and maybe for fun But Frankie went and got himself a gun He’d stand there, pistol in hand, hour upon hour He didn’t know yet what to do with it All he knew was how he felt with it Holding that revolver gave him a feeling of power He walked right down to that jewelry store He made up his mind, kicked open the door He pointed his gun right in that poor clerk’s face He said give me the loot, said give me the stuff No time to be hero, don’t try to be tough If you don’t do what I say, I start shooting up the place Well, Frankie had never used a revolver before It came from the street; he didn’t buy it in a store So, no one had taken the time just to explain How a hair-trigger in shaky hands Can so quickly change your plans And just what a speeding bullet will do to a man’s brain Well, they hauled him away, they locked him up They appointed a lawyer, took him to the judge They gave him his five minutes to explain He looked that judge right in the eye He opened his mouth and told his last lie He said, “I meant to kill that clerk and I'd do it again!” Frankie never knew just why he said it All he knew was, he didn’t regret it Soon he was staring down the barrels waiting for release Without a tear or single sob On his way to Hell via firing squad For the first time he could remember... Frankie felt at peace Well, let me tell you a little story about Franklin D. Scruff Times were pretty hard, life was rough He threw it all away for a shot at some shiny stuff Say a prayer for Franklin D. Scruff
